There's always a few fedora-tipping historians out there sneering that every saint/miracle/tradition is superstitious fiction, and I've grown accustomed to seeing that in my research. But I was surprised at how much of that there was for Saint Thomas, given that I would say the textual evidence in his favour is quite overwhelming.
